Leicester City, Leeds United play out stalemate

Leicester City and Leeds United play out a goalless draw in their Championship encounter at the King Power Stadium.

Leicester City and Leeds United have played out a goalless draw in their Championship encounter at the King Power Stadium.

The result means that both sides remain unbeaten after winning their opening matches of the campaign.

There were few chances during what was a dull first half, but Jason Pearce came close early on for the visitors when he headed over from close range.

It was a similar story after the interval, although Leicester enjoyed most of the possession.

Danny Drinkwater curled an effort well over the crossbar on 67 minutes, while David Nugent failed to keep his composure in the penalty area before shooting wide.

Jamie Vardy then had two efforts kept put by Paddy Kenny as Leicester cranked up the pressure in the final stages.

The closest that either side came to breaking the deadlock came through Chris Wood in the 81st minute when the striker's fierce drive crashed back off the post.
