Sharp eager for regular Leeds run

Leeds United forward Billy Sharp has admitted that he is frustrated not to be playing regular first-team football.

The striker has scored four goals in 10 starts for the Whites this season, but the 29-year-old is hoping to feature more for Neil Redfearn's men.

He is quoted by the Yorkshire Evening Post as saying: "I set myself targets and targets for goals but I've started 10 games. Four in 10 isn't too bad but I'll be disappointed if I only start 10 games this season. It would be the same as being injured in my head.

"Not having a smile on my face when I'm not playing is another problem but if I had a smile on my face then I probably wouldn't get picked at all.

"I'm at an age where I want to be playing for a Championship team so I'll be disappointed when I'm not. That's goes for any professional."

Leeds are currently 16th in the Championship table and face playoff-chasing Ipswich Town on Wednesday evening at Elland Road.
