Lazio are said to be keen on Atalanta defender Federico Peluso.
The 26-year-old has been linked with a move to the Stadio Olimpico, after Palermo chairman Maurizio Zamparini cooled Lazio's interest in Federico Balzaretti.
Peluso, who joined Atalanta in 2009, made 33 appearances for the side in Serie A last season.
His impressive form has ignited the interest of Lazio's, who see him at a solution for their problem at left-back.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Lazio are willing to pay £4-5m for the defender, with Guglielmo Stendardo - who spent the second half of the season on loan at Atalanta - being used as a possible makeweight in any deal.
