Lazio's Miroslav Klose targets Champions League qualification

Klose eyes top three spot

Lazio striker Miroslav Klose has insisted that his side are determined to finish in the top three in Serie A this season.

The Roman club are currently fifth in the league table with 26 points from 14 matches, just two points behind third-placed Fiorentina and six behind leaders Juventus,

"It is too early to say whether we are Scudetto material, but we know that we have a talented squad that can beat anyone," Klose told TopMercato.com.

"Our start to the season has been very interesting, but there's a long way to go. Our minimum objective is Champions League qualification.

"I'd love to win trophies with Lazio, as this is what I came here for. If that includes a Capocannoniere title (top scorer of the season) along the way, then it's welcome, but it's not an obsession of mine."

Lazio finished fourth in Serie A last season.
