Juventus to replace Tevez with Mandzukic

Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta has revealed that he will sign Atletico Madrid striker Mario Mandzukic in the event that Carlos Tevez leaves this summer.

The Argentine, 31, is linked with a switch away from Turin, with Liverpool and Boca Juniors - with whom he began his career - among the clubs touted to make a move.

Tevez, whose contract expires next summer, was recently told by Marotta to make a decision on his future by the end of the week, and the Juve chief revealed that he already has contingency plans in place.

"If Tevez were to leave, we have identified the player to replace him as Mandzukic," he told Tuttosport.

"We all agree on his positive impact. Carlos has this desire to return to South America, to his home in Argentina to end a glorious career.

"We are waiting for an answer and we hope to see within two to three days what he will do."

Tevez joined the Bianconeri in 2013 from Manchester City.
