Juventus chief Giuseppe Marotta quiet on Cristiano Ronaldo rumours

Juventus chief quiet on Ronaldo rumours

Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta has refused to confirm whether his side are close to bringing in Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid.

The 33-year-old is said to have grown upset at the lack of a new contract offer at the Bernabeu and is looking to move on this summer.

Reports in the Italian and Spanish press suggest that Juve's £88m offer will be enough to land Ronaldo, who could bow out with 450 goals in 438 games for the reigning European champions.

Following suggestions from the Italian giants' former director general Luciano Moggi that a deal is already in place, Marotta has now attempted to shrug off the growing speculation.

"I will not speak [about the speculation]," he told Sky Sports Italia when probed on the matter.

Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes was reportedly in Madrid on Wednesday for a meeting with Los Blancos president Florentino Perez, as the final details of the summer's biggest transfer are put in place.
