Juve reveal Madrid offer for Pogba

Juventus director general Giuseppe Marotta has revealed that Real Madrid made an enquiry for French midfielder Paul Pogba earlier this summer, which was quickly rejected.

Pogba joined Juve on a free transfer from Manchester United last summer, after finding opportunities limited at Old Trafford.

The 20-year-old has settled quickly under Antonio Conte, making 38 appearances in his debut season with the Italian champions to help the Old Lady comfortably retain their Serie A crown.

Morotta said after yesterday's Champions League draw that group stage rivals Madrid made an enquiry for Pogba last summer, but the Italian side are adamant that the starlet is not for sale.

He told Sky Sport Italia: "Florentino Perez enquired about him but there were no negotiations.

"We have no intention of selling him as he's no yet expressed his full potential."

Pogba earned a start in central midfield last weekend as Juve began their bid for a third successive Scudetto with a 1-0 win at Sampdoria.
