How Juventus could line up against Cagliari

Sports Mole looks at how Juventus could line up in Monday's Serie A clash with Cagliari.

Juventus will be looking to return to the top of Serie A when they play their first match of 2020 at home to Cagliari on Monday afternoon.

The Old Lady are currently second to Inter Milan in Italy's top flight; they are level on points with Antonio Conte's side, though, and therefore a draw would be enough to move to the summit.

Juve have won each of their last six league matches with Cagliari, but the visitors could provide stern opposition having performed above expectations this season to sit sixth in the table.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how the home side could line up on Monday afternoon.

POSS JUVE XI vs. CAG

Out: Rodrigo Bentancur (suspended), Giorgio Chiellini (knee), Sami Khedira (knee)

Juve have had a number of fitness problems this season, but it would be fair to say that their squad is fairly healthy at the moment with just two players on the sidelines through injury.

Indeed, Giorgio Chiellini and Sami Khedira remain unavailable for selection due to knee injuries, although Rodrigo Bentancur will also miss out on Monday through suspension having seen red against Lazio.

Maurizio Sarri otherwise has a full list to choose from, and it seems likely that Paulo Dybala will again support Cristiano Ronaldo and Gonzalo Higuain in the final third of the field.

Juan Cuadrado should also return at right-back having been left out of the XI against Lazio, while Adrien Rabiot is pushing to be involved in midfield due to Bentancur's absence.

Aaron Ramsey is another option for the Italian champions, though, and it will be interesting to see whether the Welshman or Rabiot gets the nod, particularly considering that the latter is currently being strongly linked with a January switch to the Premier League.
