Carlos Tevez delighted with Serie A title win

Juventus forward Carlos Tevez has said that he and his teammates will celebrate after being confirmed as the Serie A champions.

Their closest rivals Roma suffered a surprise 4-1 defeat against Catania this afternoon, which leaves them unable to catch the Old Lady in the table.

Tevez has admitted that he did not think the Rome outfit would lose their match today and believed that his club's fixture against Atalanta tomorrow would decide the championship.

"I was asleep, but only managed 30 minutes, as they were watching the game in the hotel and there was an incredible tension between my teammates," Football Italia quotes him as saying.

"I was expecting to win it tomorrow on the field against Atalanta. Now we will go celebrate and relax a bit.

"We knew that we had the title after Monday's win over Sassuolo. That was a huge step for the Scudetto."

Juventus have amassed 93 points from their 35 games this season and will break the Serie A points record if they win their remaining fixtures.
