Massimiliano Allegri signs new Juventus deal

Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri extends his contract with the Italian champions until the summer of 2018.

Massimiliano Allegri has signed a new contract with Italian champions Juventus.

The 48-year-old, who started his managerial career with minnows Agilanese in 2003, took control of Juventus in 2014 and has led the Old Lady to back-to-back Serie A titles.

It is understood that the Italian was under pressure following a poor start to the 2015-16 campaign, but Juventus secured another league title at the end of last month.

Allegri's new deal will run until the summer of 2018, as confirmed via a statement on the Italian club's official website.

"Juventus Football Club is delighted to announce that Massimiliano Allegri has signed an extended contract that ties him to the club until June 30, 2018," read the statement.

"Following his first season in the Bianconeri dugout, which yielded Scudetto honours and an historic 10th Coppa Italia success, Allegri penned a new agreement until 2017, and his fine work in steering the club to Italian Super Cup and Quinquennio glory has been rewarded by another fresh deal."

Allegri also led AC Milan to the Serie A title in 2011.
