Player Ratings: Juventus 0-0 Atletico Madrid

Juventus secured their spot in the last-16 stage of the Champions League with a goalless draw at home to Atletico Madrid on Tuesday.

Atletico had already qualified for the next round, but needed just a point in Turin to top the section.

Both sides had chances during an end-to-end first period, but the action dried up in the second half.

Here, Sports Mole takes a closer look at how each individual player performed during the Group B clash.

JUVENTUS

Goal

Gianluigi Buffon: Made a top save to deny Koke in the first period and always looked in control from high balls. Still plenty left in the tank for the Italian. (7/10)

Defence

Stephan Lichtsteiner: Had a very productive first period down the right, but faded in the second half. Delivery should have been better from wide positions. (6/10)

Giorgio Chiellini: Won the aerial battle with Mario Mandzukic and always looked in control at the back. A strong and solid performance from the Italian. (7/10)

Leonardo Bonucci: Another no-frills performance from the centre-back, who was rarely troubled. Spent the second 45 minutes in complete cruise control. (7/10)

Patrice Evra: Was encouraged to get forward in the first period, but never really did enough in possession of the ball. Fairly average night for the Frenchman. (6/10)

Midfield

Andrea Pirlo: Had plenty of free kicks in advanced positions, but could not produce a telling moment. Tidy in possession, but did not have a serious influence on the match. (6/10)

Arturo Vidal: Tested Miguel Moya with a clever effort late on, but might have seen red in the first period for a rash challenge while on a booking. Still not at his best. (5/10)

Paul Pogba: Always involved for the home side. Put in some excellent crosses and looked the player most likely to make the difference in the final third of the field. (7/10)

Roberto Pereyra: Somewhat surprisingly given the nod, but the midfielder could not make his mark. Covered plenty of ground, but was not seen for long spells. (6/10)

Attack

Fernando Llorente: Had a couple of half-chances, but ultimately lost out to Atletico centre-back pairing Diego Godin and Jose Gimenez, who were both exceptional. (6/10)

Carlos Tevez: Started the match like a house on fire, but faded in the second period. Needed a little bit more from those around him. (6/10)

ATLETICO

Goal

Miguel Moya: Made a meal of a second-half strike from Pogba, but had a decent night overall. Was certainly helped by having such a strong defence ahead of him. (6/10)

Defence

Juanfran: So often spends his time as a right-winger, but the Spaniard was more reserved in Turin. Solid enough performance from the adventurous right-back. (6/10)

Diego Godin: Another wonderful performance from the centre-back. Did not lose a single aerial battle and made clearance after clearance inside his own box. (8/10)

Jose Gimenez: Just 19 years of age, but already looks the full package. Gave Llorente no change at all, while the Uruguay international was also confident in possession of the ball. (8/10)

Guilherme Siqueira: Got caught out by Lichtsteiner on a couple of occasions in the first period, but recovered in the second half to produce a solid performance. (6/10)

Midfield

Gabi: Did not see too much of the ball throughout the contest, but put in a disciplined defensive performance. Did what needed to be done for his side. (6/10)

Mario Suarez: Given the nod ahead of Tiago due to his defensive work and the Spaniard had a solid evening without pulling up too many trees. (6/10)

Koke: Not his usual self from set pieces, but still played a crucial role for his side. Never stopped working in the middle of the park. (6/10)

Attack

Arda Turan: Has been in such sparkling form, but could not really effect the match. That said, the Turk was always on hand to help out in a deeper position. (6/10)

Mario Mandzukic: Really struggled to influence the match against a stern Juve defence. Did not have much service, but was not seen running the channels. (5/10)

Raul Garcia: Given the nod in a forward position, but spent much of the night helping out defensively. Always performs a crucial role away from home. (6/10)
