Claudio Marchisio wary of Armenia

Marchisio wary of Armenia

Italy midfielder Claudio Marchisio has warned his teammates against complacency ahead of tonight's World Cup qualifier against Armenia.

The Azzurri currently sit top of Group B with four points from their opening two games.

Cesare Prandelli's men began their campaign with a 2-2 draw in Bulgaria, before defeating Malta 2-0 at the Stadio Alberto Braglia in Modena.

Marchisio stressed the importance of scooping three points tonight, while also stating that their pre-match preparation has gone well.

"It's a really important game," Football Italia quotes Marchisio as saying. "Not only do we want to get the win, but we want to put in a good performance too.

"Armenia are a well organised side and we will have to show them the utmost attention on the field of play. There are no easy games at top level.

"We're in good shape though, better than how we were before the encounters against Bulgaria and Malta."

The Juventus midfielder will win his 28th cap should he start the game.
