Italy call up Alessandro Florenzi

Italy have added Alessandro Florenzi to the senior squad ahead of Tuesday's World Cup qualifier against Malta.

Florenzi played for the Under-21 side in last night's 2-0 win over Russia and has been promoted to the senior squad as a result by Azzurri boss Cesare Prandelli.

The 22-year-old will act as cover in midfield for Roma teammate Daniele De Rossi, who is suspended for the Malta match.

Italy are also without Pablo Daniel Osvaldo, who is also banned for the trip to Malta.

The Azzurri were in friendly action last Thursday, coming back from 2-0 down to earn a 2-2 draw against Brazil in Geneva.
