Former Italy striker Chinaglia dies

Former Italy and Lazio striker Giorgio Chinaglia has passed away at the age of 65.

The Carrara-born striker died at his home in Florida earlier today, just a week after he was omitted to hospital with heart problems.

Chinaglia began his career with Swansea Town, before moving back to his native Italy with Massese.

Following a two-year stint with Internapoli, Chinaglia made a reputation for himself as one of the most prolific strikers in European football with Lazio.

He went on to end his career with New York Cosmos, where he played alongside Brazilian legend Pele.

Chinaglia made four appearances for the Italian national team.
