Player Ratings: Bosnia-Herzegovina 3-1 Iran

Bosnia-Herzegovina ran out 3-1 winners over Iran as both teams were eliminated from the World Cup in Salvador on Wednesday.

BOSNIA

Goal

Asmir Begovic: Commanded his area well, but dropped a cross in the first half. Was largely untested save for a couple of minutes towards the end which resulted in the Iran goal. (5/10)

Defence

Avdija Vrsajevic: Should have played Dzeko in the a tap-in in the first half, but atoned with a superb finish moments after Iran has reduced the deficit. (7/10)

Sead Kolasinac: Had a good game alongside teammate Spahic in defence, and largely limited Iran. (6/10)

Toni Sunjic: Iran had plenty of joy down the right flank in the first half. (5/10)

Emir Spahic: Took an almighty whack on his back in the first half and left on a stretcher, but returned to help his side to victory with a solid performance in defence. (6/10)

Midfield

Miralem Pjanic: The Roma midfielder displayed his class with a well-taken goal and was on form throughout. An excellent display from Pjanic. (8/10)

Tino-Sven Susic: Showed some nice touches here and there, and his trickery caused problems for Iran before he was replaced with 10 minutes remaining. (6/10)

Muhamed Besic: A calming influence in the engine room, but his display was dwarfed by Pjanic's. (6/10)

Eldin Hadzic: Showed some nice touches and nearly had the ball in the net with a skewed cross that hit the post. (6/10)

Attack

Edin Dzeko: Scored an excellent long-range effort and was too much for Iran to handle with his strength and touch. Just misses out on the Man of the Match award to Pjanic. (8/10)

Vedad Ibisevic: Supported Dzeko well and could have been on the scoresheet himself. (6/10)

Substitutes

Ognjen Vranjes: Was replaced just after the hour mark and did adequately at the back. (6/10)

Edin Visca: Was lively off the bench and could have had a goal late on. (7/10)

Sejad Salihovic: Came on the for the last 10 minutes, but didn't really get involved. (5/10)

IRAN

Goal

Alireza Haghighi: Was unable to do anything about three excellent finishes from Bosnia. (5/10)

Defence

Ehsan Hajsafi: Started brightly with an solo run and might have had a penalty on another day. But faded and couldn't stop Pjanic for the second goal. (5/10)

Mohsen Hosseini: Was part of a defence that held the line well for the World Cup, but was powerless to resist Bosnia this afternoon. (5/10)

Amir Sadeghi: Tried his best to cope with the threat of Dzeko, but should have closed down the striker quicker for the opening goal. (5/10)

Mehrdad Pooladi: Was caught out a number of times, not his best display. (5/10)

Midfield

Pejman Montazeri Was unable to contribute in the attacking areas as Iran struggled to carve out any real openings throughout, apart from the goal. (5/10)

Masoud Shojaei: Did well in the first half but then didn't return for the second, which was a shame. (7/10)

Andranik Teymourian: Worked hard in midfield, but got outclassed in parts by Pjanic. (6/10)

Javad Nekounam: A disappointing end for the captain, who never really got going. (5/10)

Attack

Reza Ghoochannejhad: Was fairly anonymous for the first half, but came alive in the second somewhat. Scored Iran's only goal of the World Cup. (7/10)

Ashkan Dejagah: Iran's best player. Gave it his all throuhout before he was eventually brought off. (8/10)

Substitutes

Karim Ansarifard: Was brought on for Dejagah and couldn't match his energy or ability. (6/10)

Khosro Heydari: Had the tough task of replacing Shojaei, but did well enough in parts. (6/10)
