Jason Scotland heading for Barnsley?

Free agent Jason Scotland will reportedly join Championship side Barnsley during the next 24 hours.

The 33-year-old has been available for a short period of time following his release from Ipswich Town earlier this month.

Despite reports that he could now retire, the veteran centre-forward has held talks with the Tykes and a deal will be concluded shortly, according to the East Anglian Daily Times.

Scotland has previously played for Swansea City and Wigan Athletic.
