Ryan Fraser goal denies Bristol City win at Ipswich Town

Ryan Fraser scores four minutes from time as Ipswich Town rescue a late draw against struggling Bristol City.

Ryan Fraser's 86th-minute goal has denied Bristol City an away win in the Championship at Ipswich Town.

The Tractor Boys had an early chance to take the lead when Jonas Knudsen's cross found Daryl Murphy, but his header was kept out by Frank Fielding.

Within moments City launched a counter-attack which almost provided a breakthrough when Mark Little found Jonathan Kodjia. However, the former Angers forward failed to hit the target.

The Robins, who were beaten at home by Reading last time out, almost conceded as Aden Flint inadvertently diverted the ball towards his own goal, only for Fielding to get his hand out and keep his side on terms.

Ipswich had chances to snatch a half-time lead through Cole Skuse and Christophe Berra, but neither could convert their opportunities.

However, Mick McCarthy's men were ahead within 60 seconds of the restart as Luke Chambers headed Knudsen's cross past Fielding from close.

Their lead lasted only seven minutes as Luke Freeman's timid-looking drive took a wicked deflection to deceive Town keeper Dean Gerken before rolling into the net.

City then took the lead three minutes later when Aaron Wilbraham teed up Kodjia, who steered the ball with the outside of his foot past Gerken.

Steve Cotterill's men looked to be heading for victory in Suffolk until Fraser latched on to Freddie Sears's pass before smashing the ball into the back of the net to leave the South-West side in the bottom three.
