Hull City ease to victory over Ipswich Town

Hull City defeat Ipswich Town 3-0 in the Championship through goals from Alex Bruce, Chuba Akpom and David Meyler.

Hull City have claimed the points with a 3-0 victory over Ipswich Town in the Championship.

Both teams started the match well, with Giles Coke and Andrew Robertson having chances for either side.

Abel Hernandez's header was saved by Dean Gerken in the 12th minute before Jonathan Parr and Larsen Toure had shots blocked by the Hull defence.

Chuba Akpom came close to breaking the deadlock on the half-hour mark but his header was saved by Gerken.

Hull did take the lead in the 38th minute though when Alex Bruce rose highest to head home Sam Clucas's corner.

The lead was doubled shortly after when Moses Odubajo crossed to Akpom to divert the ball into the net.

The Tigers kept pushing to increase the lead even further through Odubajo and Ahmed Elmohamady but both players fired wide.

A third came on the hour mark though, when David Meyler found the bottom left corner from outside the penalty area.

Toure attempted to give his team a consolation but was crowded out by Hull defenders, and Ashley Maitland-Niles missed the target on a difficult evening for the Tractor Boys.
