Half-Time Report: David McGoldrick stunner gives Ipswich Town advantage

David McGoldrick's seventh goal of the season has given Ipswich Town a 1-0 half-time lead over Leicester City at Portman Road.

The 25-year-old broke the deadlock on two minutes with a dipping strike from 25 yards.

David Nugent almost netted an instant reply, but the one-time England forward fired wide from close range.

A poor backpass from Paul Konchesky then gave McGoldrick an opportunity to double his tally, but the former Nottingham Forest striker was denied by goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel.

The Danish stopper was called upon again moments later to keep out Paul Anderson's stretching effort.
