Mateo Kovacic "happy" at Inter Milan

Inter Milan midfielder Mateo Kovacic has claimed that he is happy at the club, despite the uncertainty surrounding his future.

The 21-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to Liverpool in recent weeks, but he has said that he is only focussed on playing for the Nerazzurri next season.

"For now I'm still happy in Italy, but we'll see about the future," he told Tuttosport. "Now I'm thinking about my holidays. I only know that I'm due back at Appiano Gentile on July 5.

"That's why I haven't heard anyone from the club yet. There's no need for us to talk, I recently renewed my contract.

"I'm not expecting any further notifications, but of course you never know with the transfer market."

Kovacic joined Inter Milan from Dinamo Zagreb in January 2013.
