Javier Zanetti: 'Inter Milan can get back on top next season'

Inter Milan vice-president Javier Zanetti believes that the club can recover from a disappointing season to be successful next year.

Inter Milan vice-president Javier Zanetti has claimed that the club can get back to the top of the Italian game next season.

Despite bringing back Roberto Mancini midway through the season, Inter look set to miss out on European qualification, but Zanetti is confident that the plans in place will deliver success soon.

"We are trying to build something important here. It's not easy," the former Nerazzurri captain wrote in an exchange with supporters on his Facebook page. "There have been some unexpected difficulties, but we will try to overcome them all together.

"We are aware that qualifying for Europe will be difficult, but we'll push to the last minute. I agree with Roberto Mancini, as next year will be the right one to get back to the top."

Inter currently sit 10th in Serie A with eight games remaining in the season.
