Sneijder eyes January return

Inter Milan forward Wesley Sneijder hopes to make a return from injury in January.

The Dutchman has been sidelined since mid-November after he sustained a muscular problem during the warm up in a match against Cagliari.

The 27-year-old, who will miss tonight's [Wednesday) match against Lecce, was expected to be back in action earlier this month.

"Today you will play the last game of 2011 and I unfortunately will not be there, but certainly I will return to play in January!" he tweeted.

Sneijder, who has been persistently linked with a move to Manchester United, joined the Nerazzuri in 2009.
