Inter Milan retire Javier Zanetti's number four shirt

Inter Milan retire the number four shirt at the San Siro, as worn by the now-retired Javier Zanetti.

Inter Milan have decided to withdraw the number four shirt from their squad roster.

The club have made the decision following the retirement of Javier Zanetti, who wore that number over the course of his 857 appearances for the club.

However, Inter owner Erick Thohir has confirmed that the Argentine will not leave the San Siro completely, having accepted the offer of vice presidency for the next two years.

Zanetti, 40, signed for Inter back in 1995.
