DJ Campbell hits back at Steve Bruce

DJ Campbell has hit back at Steve Bruce following claims that the striker 'disrespected' Hull City on transfer deadline day.

The 31-year-old was close to signing for the Tigers from Queens Park Rangers on Thursday before he opened unsuccessful negotiations with Blackburn Rovers.

Hull boss Bruce suggested that Campbell refused to tell the club about his talks with Rovers, but the forward insists that his own time was wasted.

"I drove 4hours to hull 4 discussions & gave them 5/6hours 2 sort the deal & they didn't, instead they wasted mine & my families time," he tweeted.

"After 5/6hours we went & had lunch 2 discuss the situation where then we decided 2 go bk home due 2 the lack of respect shown by hull end of."

Campbell recently returned to QPR following a three-month loan spell at Ipswich Town.
