Steve Bruce slams 'disrespectful' DJ Campbell

Hull City manager Steve Bruce has slammed DJ Campbell following the striker's failed move from Queens Park Rangers.

The 31-year-old was expected to join the Tigers on transfer deadline day before he attempted to negotiate a transfer to Blackburn Rovers.

"I've never felt so disappointed," Bruce told reporters. "We were left trying to find out where they were for the best part of two hours.

"I've got absolutely no problem with him going to Blackburn if they'd just phoned and said 'thanks for your offer but we've had a wonderful offer from Blackburn'.

"The lack of respect by him and his representatives left a bad taste in the mouth."

Campbell and Bruce previously worked together at Birmingham City.
