Steve Bruce gives starts to new recruits Sam Clucas, Ryan Taylor and Chuba Akpom against Huddersfield Town, who start with Nahki Wells up front.

Hull City manager Steve Bruce has given starts to his new recruits Sam Clucas, Ryan Taylor and Chuba Akpom in their Yorkshire derby against Huddersfield Town.

Isaac Hayden, on loan from Arsenal, also makes his debut alongside Tom Huddlestone in midfield for the home side.

Visitors Huddersfield start with five in defence, including new signing Jason Davidson from West Bromwich Albion.

Injuries to forwards Sean Scannell (hamstring), Joe Lolley (shin) and James Vaugan (concussion) mean that Town start with Nahki Wells and Harry Bunn up front.

Hull City: McGregor; Taylor, Davies, Dawson, Robertson; Elmohamady, Hayden, Huddlestone, Clucas; Jelavic, Akpom

Huddersfield Town: Smithies; Smith, Cranie, Hudson, Lynch, Davidson; Hogg, Butterfield, Whitehead; Wells, Bunn
