Dame N'Doye earns Hull CIty all three points with late winner

Hull grab last-gasp winner

Dame N'Doye scored an 89th-minute winner as Hull City grabbed a dramatic 2-1 victory over 10-man Queens Park Rangers this afternoon.

Hull were denied an opening goal in the sixth minute when David Meyler's ferocious shot was blocked by QPR debutant Darnell Furlong.

Nikica Jelavic planted a header over the bar, but, less than a minute after his first opportunity, the Croatian forward rolled the ball beyond Rob Green to put the hosts 1-0 ahead.

Furlong almost grabbed a debut goal in the 18th minute, but Allan McGregor pushed the youngster's header to safety while Jake Livermore smashed a 20-yard effort marginally too high at the other end.

Shortly after the half-hour mark, Joey Barton made QPR's task much harder by lashing out at Tom Huddlestone to earn himself a needless red card.

Jelavic should have then made it 2-0 to Hull, but headed narrowly wide, and the miss proved costly as Charlie Austin levelled five minutes before the break.

There was still time for Hull to fashion one more chance before the interval, but Huddlestone could not keep his strike down from distance.

The second half was a rather more turgid affair, with neither side able to create an opening until the 75th minute, when N'Doye flicked a header just over the bar.

Just as the game looked as though it would end in a draw, N'Doye glanced Robbie Brady's cross beyond the reach of Green to give the Tigers back-to-back league wins for the first time this season.
