Hull City supporters' group proposes consultation over name change

Hull supporters proposes name consultation

'City Till We Die', a group of Hull City supporters, has asked owner Dr Assem Allam for an "inclusive and meaningful" consultation over the proposed name change of the Premier League club to Hull Tigers.

The group has responded to a number of interviews that Dr Allam gave to national media last week about the change by issuing a press release.

CTWD says that Dr Allam promised them that the club's name would not change for at least two to three years, but now it looks like the Yorkshire outfit may become Hull Tigers sooner than expected.

Dr Allam claimed that it was just a few hundred supporters who were making a fuss but CTWD has responded by saying that it has "amassed 1,900 Twitter followers and 1,900 Facebook likes in a few short weeks", as well as a petition that has 5,000 signatures.

The Football Association would require a meeting with fans before giving any name change the go-ahead.
