Tom Cairney has said that he had butterflies when he came on as a substitute against Huddersfield Town on Saturday.
The 21-year-old had been out for four months with a knee injury.
The midfielder told the club's website: "There were a few butterflies when the manager told me I was going on because I'd been out for a long time and we were 1-0 up.
"To be back out there was a great feeling, though, and because the team and the players are full of confidence, it makes it a bit easier for me.
"With the ability that we've got in the squad, we've definitely got a good chance of doing something this season and the belief is there within the changing room to achieve that."
Hull face Derby on Friday evening.
