Hull City boss Steve Bruce has admitted that his side paid the ultimate price for a mistake by keeper Allan McGregor in their 1-0 defeat to West Bromwich Albion.
McGregor picked up the ball from a back-pass from Ahmed Elmohamady, which allowed Saido Berahino to hammer the resulting free kick into the net and hand Tony Pulis an opening-game victory at The Hawthorns.
"It's hugely disappointing and hugely frustrating more than anything," Bruce told reporters. "It's one of those awful moments that you don't see very often.
"You take a point away from home and get on with it, but unfortunately we've made an awful mistake and got punished for it.
"It's one of them crazy ones, when you lose a game of this magnitude to a goal like that, because I can't remember either keeper really having a shot to make."
Hull are 18th in the Premier League following their defeat to the Baggies.
