Huddersfield Town manager Chris Powell has hailed the performance of his players during this afternoon's 1-1 draw away at Bournemouth, reserving special praise for goalkeeper Alex Smithies.
The Terriers held on to secure a valuable point against the league leaders to move up to 14th place in the Championship table.
Man-of-the-match Smithies had to pull off a number of important stops to deny the Cherries, producing two saves late on to keep out Yann Kermorgant and Harry Arter.
"He was very good today. He is a good young goalkeeper," Powell told Sky Sports News when asked about the 24-year-old's display.
"He was very positive coming off his line but also when he was called upon he made three or four great saves. My players put their bodies on the line at times and the defended executed the game plan. The whole team did."
Huddersfield are back in action next weekend when they play host to Cardiff City.
