"David is an extremely dynamic full-back who we were interested in back in the summer. However, an obligation could not be realized at that time," Hoffenheim managing director Alexander Rosen told the club's official website.

"He is fast, strong offensively and can be used variably on the left side in different basic formations. The loan of Julian Justvan was also conditional on us being able to add another strong alternative to our squad. We are convinced that we have found this solution in David and are pleased that he will play for us at least in the second half of the current season."

"David is a competitive and strong-willed player who will significantly increase the competition within our squad with his qualities," Hoffenheim Head of Professional Football Pirmin Schwegler added. "He hits dangerous and difficult to defend crosses and, despite being only 23 years old, already impresses with an enormous presence on the pitch.
