Guingamp, Saint-Etienne play out goalless draw

Guingamp and Saint-Etienne have played out a goalless draw in Ligue 1.

Max Gradel tried to force the issue for Etienne early on as the forward let fly with his right foot, having been played in by Romain Hamouma.

Mevlut Erding found Fabien Lemoine minutes later, but his effort from outside the box was blocked on its way to goal.

Faouzi Ghoulam had a go for Etienne from a direct free kick, however, his effort was way off target as it flew high and wide.

Jonathan Pereira wasted a great chance for Guingamp just before the break as he skied over, after being found by Steeven Langil's cross into the box.

The hosts were wasteful again after the break when Claudio Beauvue was found by Pereira, only to see his shot tipped away from the bottom corner.

Gradel thought that he had won it for Etienne late on when he shot from the centre of the box, but his effort was somehow kept out by a diving save down at the keeper's bottom-right corner.
