Fernando Santos: 'Cristiano Ronaldo is the best'

Greece boss Fernando Santos has branded Portugal attacker Cristiano Ronaldo as the best player in world football.

Ronaldo, 27, had come under criticism in the early stages of Euro 2012, but he has scored three goals in his last two games to send his country into the semi-finals.

"Cristiano Ronaldo is Cristiano Ronaldo. I do not know why people were so critical of him. Now they think he is the best player in the world? Of course he is," Santos told Globoesporte.

Portugal face Spain in the semi-finals on Wednesday.
