Sunday's Eredivisie predictions including Sparta vs. Utrecht

Go Ahead Eagles vs. PEC Zwolle (Sunday, 11.15am)

Off the back of securing a hard-fought point last time out, Go Ahead Eagles will be aiming to go one better when they welcome PEC Zwolle to De Adelaarshorst on Sunday afternoon.   On the other hand, Zwolle will make the journey this weekend currently on a run of three consecutive defeats across all competitions and in need of a huge boost.

We say: Go Ahead Eagles 2-0 PEC Zwolle

Given Zwolle's away struggles so far, anything less than three points would be a less than ideal outcome for Go Ahead Eagles.

 

While we expect the visitors to put up a decent fight, we fully fancy the home side to carry the day at the end of the 90 minutes.

Nijmegen vs. Groningen (Sunday, 1.30pm)

Currently separated by one point in the Eredivisie table, NEC and Groningen will do battle at Stadion de Goffert on Sunday afternoon in round 11 of the 2024-25 Eredivisie table.   Both teams recorded KNVB-Beker victories in midweek but were on the receiving end of respective defeats in their most recent league outings in matchday 10.

We say: NEC 2-1 Groningen

Buoyed by their cup wins in midweek, both teams will head into Sunday's game on a high which should make for an exciting contest.

 

That said, we are backing NEC to make home advantage count and get the job done in the end.

Sparta vs. Utrecht (Sunday, 1.30pm)

Fresh from ending a four-game winless streak, Sparta Rotterdam will set out to pick up where they left off when FC Utrecht come visiting the Sparta Stadion Het Kasteel on Sunday.   The away side were also victorious on KNVB-Beker duty in midweek and will now seek to continue their recent resurgence with an eighth victory in nine matches across all competitions.  

We say: Sparta Rotterdam 1-3 FC Utrecht

Despite recently suffering a first defeat of the season against Feyenoord, Utrecht have made a blistering start to proceedings this term and will definitely take some stopping this weekend.

 

We are backing the visitors to come out triumphant at the end of the 90 minutes in what should be an exciting affair.

RKC Waalwijk vs. Almere City (Sunday, 3.45pm)

RKC Waalwijk and Almere City square off on Sunday afternoon in what is a battle between the bottom two sides in the Eredivisie standings.

However, there are five points separating the two sides, the home team still looking for their first win of the campaign.

We say: RKC Waalwijk 1-1 Almere City

With the home side having recently earned a surprise draw with FC Twente, they should not be ruled out here. However, we feel that the two sides will play out a low-scoring draw that will not necessarily suit either club.
