Gillingham searching for new striker

Gillingham manager Justin Edinburgh has confirmed that he is keen to bolster his striking options.

The boss made the revelation following the news that Luke Norris, who had started every game this season, has been ruled out of action for up to three months with an ankle injury that he recently sustained against Crewe Alexandra.

"It is something we may have to look at in the coming days, whether we can go and find the right personnel to bring in on loan. Luke was pivotal and it is something we haven't now got," he told Kent Online.

Edinburgh also revealed that centre-forward Cody McDonald is close to full fitness following a period on the sidelines.
