Angel Lafita out for six months

Getafe have been hit with the news that Angel Lafita will spend the next six months on the sidelines as the forward recovers from knee surgery.

The Spaniard suffered the injury against Granada before the winter break, but the initial diagnosis was fairly positive.

Scans later revealed the extent of the damage, however, and the 30-year-old was forced to undergo surgery to repair his cruciate ligament on Monday.

As a result, Lafita will miss the remainder of the 2014-15 season.

The former Real Zaragoza youngster, who picked up the injury after falling awkwardly on his knee, has been with Getafe since 2012.
