Klose announces international retirement

German forward Miroslav Klose has announced his international retirement following a glittering career.

The 36-year-old ends his international career as the all-time leading scorer in World Cup finals, having registered 16 strikes in the competition.

The striker is also Germany's all-time leading scorer with 71 goals in 137 matches.

In addition, by scoring at the 2014 competition in Brazil, Klose became just the third player in history to score at four different World Cups.

Klose's club career continues, however, with Lazio his current employers.
