Germany coach Joachim Low has admitted that he was pleased with the performance of his four debutants in the 4-2 friendly win against Ecuador on Wednesday night.
Low was without players from Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund or Real Madrid and the coach said that he was delighted to see how deep the German national pool is.
"I've always said that we need a group of 30 players in the national team, not just 20 or 25," Low told Bundesliga.com. "The newcomers were really good in the first half.
"We need to start strongly again [against the USA] and keep the pace of the game high. Then we'll be able to beat them."
The USA friendly takes place on Sunday at 7.30pm.
