Martin Jol believes his Fulham side can smash their Premier League record points total this season.

Martin Jol believes that Fulham could break their record Premier League points total this season.

The Cottagers are in fine form, having won four of their last six league games and are level with eighth-placed Liverpool.

Jol's side currently have 49 points - just four short of their club record that they achieved under Roy Hodgson in 2009. The Londoners face Sunderland on Sunday, before travelling to Tottenham on the final day of the season.

"If we can get six points it will be 55," said Jol.

"First we said 40, then 50 and it almost looked undoable, but now I think we are in a fantastic position to get even more points on the board.

"In 2009 they got 53 but I think in that season they didn't play in Europe, and the season after they did and it cost them some points.

"This year we played in Europe so to have 50 points or more after playing in Europe would be fantastic."

Fulham currently sit in eighth place in the Premier League table.
