Rene Meulensteen: 'FA Cup win a good feeling'

Rene Meulensteen says that Fulham beat Norwich City because of their work rate and defensive shape.

Fulham manager Rene Meulensteen has described his side's FA Cup win against Norwich City as "a good feeling".

The Cottagers beat the Canaries in the third-round replay with goals from Darren Bent, Ashkan Dejagah and Steve Sidwell.

Speaking after the match, Meulensteen was pleased with Fulham's defensive display and said that the win was the perfect way to respond after the 4-1 defeat to Sunderland.

"Our desire has never been in question but that desire and urgency has mainly been in going forward and it's cost us at times, particularly defending set-plays and counter-attacks," Meulensteen told BBC Sport.

"Today we made sure we were in good shape, working hard to get back into that shape and making it difficult.

"It's a good feeling after the unpleasant result against Sunderland."

Fulham play Sheffield United in the next round.
