Jonathan Schmid extends Freiburg contract

Freiburg winger Jonathan Schmid has agreed terms on a contract extension with the club for an undisclosed length of time.

Director of sport Klemens Hartenbach said that Schmid, who joined Freiburg in 2010, is a key member of the team and is delighted with the extension.

"We're pleased that Jonny has decided to stay on at Freiburg," Hartenbach told Bundesliga.com.

"He's a local lad, who's come a long way and become one of the first team's key performers."

Schmid has scored eight league goals for the club.
