France striker Olivier Giroud reveals that his team is eager to finish in first place in their group at the World Cup.

Olivier Giroud has revealed that France are eager to finish in first place in their group at the World Cup.

Les Bleus are currently three points clear of Ecuador at the top of Group E following two wins from their opening two games.

Giroud now hopes that France can "finish the job" against the Ecuadorians in order to get a favourable draw in the second round.

"It's very satisfying and gives us a lot of confidence to continue," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "We want to come first and avoid one of the big guns in the next round. We must finish the job against Ecuador."

France play their final group game against Ecuador on Wednesday.
