Didier Deschamps thinks that French footballers could learn a lot from their Italian counterparts.

French national team manager Didier Deschamps has launched a scathing attack on his country's football attitude.

Deschamps, who took over in July, criticised the negativity surrounding the national team and thinks that Ligue 1 players should be more disciplined.

"Around France there is too much pessimism," he told Tuttosport. "Fewer people identify themselves with Le Bleus, but the result against Spain can help change this.

"Many people told me it was a long time since they experience such emotion. The Euro 2016 in France is very important.

"What is lacking in French players? Order, respect, rules? All of this. In France, players have too much freedom."

Deschamps went on to praise the discipline in Italy, with teams such as AC Milan and Juventus setting the standard for the national team.

France face Italy in a friendly on Wednesday night.
