Miserable Crawley Town run continues with Fleetwood Town loss

Crawley's winless run is extended to 13 games in all competitions with a 1-0 defeat to Fleetwood Town in League One.

Antoni Sarcevic's second goal of the season was enough as Fleetwood Town edged out Crawley Town 1-0 in League One.

Sarcevic's goal two minutes from time in the first half was enough for the home side, who condemned Crawley to 13 games without a win in all competitions.

Josh Morris almost gave the home side the lead on 10 minutes after a goal-mouth scramble but Crawley eventually scrambled the ball clear.

Sarcevic almost opened the scoring after making the most of a loose ball but Crawley goalkeeper Lewis Price was alert to tip the attempt over from a tight angle, however he did go on to open the scoring shortly before the break with a low drive.

Jeff Hughes was presented with a great chance to extend the lead five minutes into the second period, but he could only head over the bar.

Crawley responded through Danny Ward but he could only head over himself from Anthony Wordsworth's delivery.

Sarcevic was lively once more in the second period but his effort failed to trouble the goalkeeper shortly before the hour mark after good work in the build-up from the attacker.

The 22-year-old was at it again shortly after but his goal-bound effort was volleyed clear by Crawley captain Joe Walsh.

Wordsworth saw a shot blocked for Crawley but in truth the visitors offered little in the way of a goal threat and Fleetwood went close to extending their advantage when Roberts headed wide from a corner.
