With qualification to the Women's Euro 2022 knockout rounds already secured, Germany Women will be aiming wrap up the group stage with a win over Finland Women.

Finland's quest for a place in the quarter-finals came to an end after their opening two group matches, which both ended in defeat.

They opened their campaign with a 4-1 defeat to Spain, despite taking the lead in that contest, before losing 1-0 to Denmark on matchday two.

Anna Signeul's side held out against Denmark for over 70 minutes until Pernille Harder grabbed what proved to be the winner, condemning Finland to an early exit.

The result also prolonged Finland's poor run of form, with their last four matches all ending in defeat.

Although they are already eliminated from the tournament, Finland will be aiming to end a winless seven-game run at the European Championships, which stretches back to 2009.

Meanwhile, Germany know that even if they lose on Saturday that they will finish top of the group after picking up maximum points in their opening two matches.

Denmark were thrashed 4-0 in their opening match before they added three more points to their tally with a 2-0 win over Spain on matchday two.

Klara Buhl opened the scoring within three minutes against Spain before Alex Popp doubled their advantage in the 33rd minute and with their opponents unable to mount a comeback in the second half, Germany saw the game out to secure their passage into the quarter-finals.

Having kept two clean sheets in their opening games, Martina Voss-Tecklenburg's side will be determined to continue their fine defensive form when they face Finland on Saturday.

After winning their previous three internationals, Germany will be motivated to clinch another victory ahead of a quarter-final against Austria next Thursday.

Team News

Despite losing on matchday two, Finland could name an unchanged lineup after coming close to taking a point off Denmark.

Natalia Kuikka will start consecutive games after coming into the side against Denmark to partner Anna Westerlund in the centre of defence.

Linda Sallstrom scored in Finland's opening match, and the 34-year-old will be looking to find the net once again when she partners Sanni Franssi up front.

As for Germany, they are expected to be without Lina Magull and Sydney Lohmann, who are struggling with thigh and knee injuries respectively.

Lena Oberdorf and Felicitas Rauch are suspended for the final group game due to an accumulation of yellow cards, which could present Lena Lattwein and Sophia Kleinherne with starting places.

Voss-Tecklenburg could also give game time to Jule Brand and Tabea Wassmuth ahead of the quarter-final against Austria next week.

Finland Women possible starting lineup:
Korpela; Koivisto, Westerlund, Kuikka, Pikkujamsa; Sainio, Alanen, Summanen, Oling; Sallstrom, Franssi

Germany Women possible starting lineup:
Frohms; Gwinn, Hendrich, Hegering, Kleinherne; Dabritz, Lattwein, Dallmann; Huth, Brand, Wassmuth

We say: Finland Women 0-2 Germany Women

Although Germany could rest a number of players, we think that they will prove too strong for Finland, and we believe the group leaders will also remain resilient to clinch another clean sheet.
