Feyenoord assistant manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst has signed a one-year contract extension at the Rotterdam club.
The 39-year-old's contract at De Kuip stadium was due to expire this summer, and with coach Ronald Koeman leaving at the end of the season, doubts over Van Bronckhorst's future at the club were beginning to surface.
However, Feyenoord have announced that the ex-Oranje defender has extended his current deal by another year, and that he will continue to work under new boss Fred Rutten.
Speaking to the official Feyenoord website, Van Bronckhorst said: "Feyenoord is my club and I'm enjoying myself here. It is fantastic.
"It was just important for me to speak with new coach Fred Rutten about the deal. That felt really good and I'm glad I am part of the technical staff next season."
Van Bronckhorst began his playing career with Feyenoord in 1993, scoring 22 goals in 103 appearances for the Rotterdam outfit.
