Robin van Persie hints at Premier League return

Fenerbahce forward Robin van Persie reveals that he would be interested in returning to the Premier League.

Fenerbahce forward Robin van Persie has revealed that he would be interested in returning to the Premier League.

The Dutchman started his professional career with Feyenoord, before joining Arsenal in 2004, where he spent eight seasons, scoring 132 goals in 277 appearances.

Van Persie then moved on to Manchester United, helping the club win the Premier League title in his first season, before leaving for Fenerbahce in the summer of 2015 after falling out of favour under Louis van Gaal.

The 33-year-old has been linked with a return to England over the last few months and while he is open to the possibility, the 101-time Netherlands international has admitted that his children will play a big role in his future.

"We've moved around in recent years and that suits me very well," Van Persie is quoted as telling Feyenoord TV. "Over the years I have seen that you cannot really plan your career. You have to take it as it comes. There are all kinds of things in your path and you accept it or not.

"That's how I will approach the last few years. I'm open to everything. I've been away from the Netherlands for 13 years and that suits me fine. Whether it's in England, Turkey or wherever.

"The kids are involved. They are even more English than Dutch because they grew up there. There comes a time when they also get a bigger say in where they'd like to live and be."

Van Persie has scored 22 times in 54 appearances for his current club, but is yet to register in six appearances at the start of the 2016-17 campaign.
