The 36-year-old recently became a free agent following a short stint with the Kerala Blasters in the inaugural Indian Super League.
McAllister left Yeovil Town last term after spending two years at the club.
The left-back, who won one Scotland cap in 2004, has also played for Bristol City, Hearts and Aberdeen.
