Kevin Mirallas: 'I'll consider leaving Everton if I'm not a regular starter'

Kevin Mirallas reveals that he will think about leaving Everton in January if he is not given a regular starting role, due to fears over losing his Belgium place.

Kevin Mirallas has admitted that he will consider leaving Everton in January if he is not playing in a regular starting role in the next few months.

The 28-year-old has concerns that he will not be included in Belgium's squad for next summer's European Championships in France if he is not playing regularly at club level.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez brushed aside reports that Mirallas is unhappy, but the player himself has suggested that he is open to joining another club.

"In football you are sometimes faced with situations that you did not foresee," HLN Plus quotes Mirallas as saying. "In view of the national team I stay calm, because there's still a few months remaining.

"But if the situation drags on, I'll be asking the right questions in January, because if I do not play, it's hard to win a place in the 23 for the European Championships. I now try especially to be a starter at Everton. If I get it, I see no problem."

Mirallas signed a new three-year deal with the Toffees in August.
